A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the Park Manor neighborhood Thursday morning, according to police.
She was in an alley when a man approached her on a mountain bike and assaulted her in a nearby gangway.
The attack happened about 11:30 a.m. in an alley near 71st Street and King Drive.
The man, described as between the ages of 20 and 30, forcibly removed the girl’s pants and sexually assaulted the girl, according to police. After the assault, the man fled, and the girl sought help.
The girl was taken to Comer Children’s hospital for evaluation and treatment, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
Police described the man as black, 20 to 40 years old, with medium complexion, short dreadlocks and a tattooed neck and forearms.
Police said he wore a blue baseball hat with the letter "A" on it, a white T-shirt, dark jeans and rode an adult-sized mountain bike.
