A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead this morning after authorities found him unresponsive on the platform of a Red Line station on the South Side.

The man was found at the 47th Street station and was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:09 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Early indications were that he died of natural causes, police said.

Red Line trains were not stopping at 47th Street after police responded to platform, but normal service has since resumed, according to the CTA.
