In celebration of 93XRT's 40th anniversary, Chef Troy Graves of Red Door and XRT's Lin Brehmer will host the Lobster Bash on July 31.
Red Door, 2118 N. Damen Ave. in Bucktown, will host the event--from 6:30 to 10 p.m.--which will feature a group of leading local chefs assembled by Graves.
"It's always fun getting the chefs together and making some food," he said. "I expect it should be lots of fun."
Event organizer Carl Galvan, of Red Door, called the participating chefs "leaders and trendsetters in the industry." Joining Graves are Mark Steuer of The Bedford and Carriage House, Mindy Segal of Hot Chocolate, the Sheerin brothers of Trenchermen, Paul Fehribach of Big Jones, Ryan Poli of Tavernita and Jason Vincent of Nightwood. All will create lobster dishes with shellfish provided by Supreme Lobster Co.
While this will be the first partnership between Red Door and XRT, Galvan said you can probably expect more in the future.
"We've built a relationship and we're all really into music and food, so over the past few years we've been trying to figure out a way to merge the two industries," he said.
Tickets for the event are $60 and are on sale now at www.eventbrite.com. A ticket includes lobster tastings, signature cocktails, wine and beer.
