A 19-year-old man has been charged with a shooting in Bronzeville and pointing his gun at police as they responded to the scene on Friday, according to police.

Anthony Robinson faces one count of aggravated assault on a police officer and one count of unlawful use of a weapon, both felonies, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.

Police said they were responding to a shots fired call at about noon on Friday when they saw Robinson, of the 4300 block of S. Berkeley Avenue, shooting at a 22-year-old man, who sustained gunshot wounds to his back, arm and hand.

Robinson then pointed his weapon at police, and police fired at Robinson, they said. Nobody was hurt during the exchange, and police arrested Robinson.

The man also also faces a misdemeanor count of possessing a firearm without a valid FOID card.

The charges come about three months after Robinson pleaded guilty to mob action, according to Cook County court records. A judge ordered supervision and community service in that case.
