Olivia Newton-Johnwill be a headliner at this year's Northalsted Market Days--the summer lovin' Boystown fest, aka the largest two-day street fair in the Midwest, according to event organizers.
Tell me more, tell me more? Old school favorites Sheena Easton and The Pointer Sisters will also be performing at the fest, in addition to Wynter Gordon, Tony-award winner Levi Kreis, American Idol's Paris Bennett, and LGBT favorite, recording artist Matt Zarley, one the first openly gay men to be named to People magazine's Top 50 Bachelors.
The 31st annual Northalsted Market Days--which will span six city blocks--takes place August 11 and 12 and feature three music stages.
Local talent is always well-represented at Northalsted Market Days, colloquially known as "Market Days," and this year is no exception. Homegrown highlights include Dot Dot Dot, The Windy City Cowboys, and perennial fest favorite16 Candles.
"Northalsted Market Days has a long tradition of bringing in music acts that complement the spirit of the event and I think this year's entertainment reaches new heights for us," says Jeff Durbin, Market Days chairman and owner of the The Gourmet Grape. "Showcasing talent from a varied group of entertainers reflects the diverse nature of the festival and our desire to keep Market Days a premiere event for both locals and tourists alike."
The event also typically features 400 food and arts and crafts vendors, not to mention what is generally considered one of the best people-watching opportunities of the entire summer.
