Blue Line riders would be able to use their phones in the subway as part of a $492 million project the CTA announced Thursday.
The CTA said it will cost $27 million to upgrade the Blue Line's wireless infrastructure to 4G. The agency said the current system was built in 2005 and is inadequate and outdated.
Other Blue Line improvements include renovations to the Grand, Chicago, Division, Damen, California, Logan Square and Jefferson Park stations, slow zone removal from Grand to Division and Damen to Belmont and a new elevator at the Addison stop.Want more?
