The CTA plans to install 24 digital displays at 10 stations in the next six months, an agency spokeswoman said this week.

The CTA recently installed two new digital displays outside the Chicago Brown Line stop on the Near North Side. The 10 stations that will receive these new displays is to be determined, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said.

The displays, which cost $64,000 including installation, are paid for by a mix of funds from the CTA and by Titan, an advertising firm with an office in the Loop. Titan foots most of the bill, Hosinski said. The displays show train tracking information and ads.

The first of these digital displays was installed outside the Grand Blue Line station in West Town in April 2012. That display shows the arrival times of the Blue Line trains and buses that serve that station.

Each CTA rail station has at least one train tracker display except for the Wilson Red Line stop, which will receive a train tracker after the Uptown station is overhauled in a $203 million project. Work is expected to begin on the station in the fall.
