Anthony Bourdain got a taste of the CTA on his recent trip to Chicago for his show "Layover," which premieres Monday night on the Travel Channel.
After a trip to Sweet Maple Cafe in University Village, a few locals are shown suggesting Bourdain ride the CTA.
"You get a great tour of the city by not even having to do anything," said one.
"It's like riding an old wooden rollercoaster," said another.
Not so. Bourdain is showing riding around the Loop in one of the new rail cars with the aisle-facing seats. After the announcements play over the loudspeaker, Bourdain says, "I ain't transferring [bleep]. I'm staying right here until it gets cool."
One resident suggests not paying and going under the turnstile for a free ride. Bourdain dismisses that suggestion as a way to get in trouble with the Chicago police.
