Police are searching for a group of thieves who have been targeting people using their cell phones on the Red Line.

In the early part of the year, several males robbed passengers of cell phones and other electronic devices while traveling on the Red Line between  55th and 95th streets, police said in a statement.

One attack took place Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. at the 87th Street stop, another Feb. 8 at 5:15 p.m. at the 79th Street stop. At least two other attacks have taken place, but police did not release specific information about those robberies.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 312-747-8273.
