The Addison station on the Brown Line reopened this morning after the station was closed Friday evening so workers could perform emergency platform repairs, CTA officials said.
Though some temporary work is continuing, the station reopened about 7:30 a.m. and normal service has resumed, according to the CTA.
Brown Line trains bypassed the station, 1818 W. Addison St., after a person was injured after falling on a section of the platform about 6:30 p.m. Friday, said CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis.
The person sustained minor injuries but crews were called in to make repairs on that section of the platform to prevent any other injuries, she said.
CTA officials learned of the problem with the physical structure of the platform sometime before 6:30 p.m., and CTA engineers were on-site overnight, making repairs and assessing the safety and soundness of the structure.
A bus shuttle was set up to allow passengers to access the area of the Addison stop, Lukidis said.
