A man suffered critical burn injuries when he fell on the electrified third rail at the Logan Square station this afternoon, authorities said.

The man fell on the tracks at the station, 2620 N. Milwaukee Ave., a little before 4:30 p.m.,and suffered burns when he fell on the third rail, according to the Chicago Fire Department's news office. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, according to the Fire Department.

Power had to be cut off to part of the BLue Line while Fire Department crews rescued the man, stopping trains, but trains were moving again a little before 5 p.m., according to the CTA.
