Yellow Line CTA train service was temporarily suspended in Skokie after a passenger left behind a suitcase, CTA officials said.

The suspicious suitcase was found on the Dempster Street platform shortly before 4 p.m., said Brian Steele, a CTA spokesman.

Skokie police were called to the area to investigate, said Steele, and all Yellow Line service has been suspended while officials look into the incident.

According to a CTA notification on its Website, train service resumed  with minor delays.

Steele said that the call was unfounded and train service resumed at about 5:30 p.m.

Skokie police refused to give any information about the incident.
