Local look: Langford Market
621 W. Diversey Ave. 773-880-3191
From sweeping skirts to feminine patterned dresses, Langford Market is geared toward ladies looking for comfortable clothes with personality. This Texas-based store is already making waves in Chicago with two new north side stores that opened last year. I visited their Diversey store in Lincoln Park, which boasts colorful clothes, handbags and unique accessories for ladies looking for a fashion-forward outfit.
With the changing season in mind, I chose a knockout khaki hunting jacket (Maude, $99.90) with leather elbow patches and a plaid hood to anchor my look. Then I slipped into some of the most comfortable jeans ever (Boom Boom, $69.90)--like seriously ever--and added a silky striped navy-and-white top and basic camisole (Maude, $44.90; $14.90) underneath. I chose accessories that would complement the jacket: an incredible deer bust choker (Maude, $19.90), oversized camel handbag (Urban Expressions, $79.90) and finished with chunky gold ring (Maude, $19.90) for some sparkle. It all paired perfectly with a pair of my own ankle boots.
Where to wear it: Ditch the jacket when the temperature spikes or add a knit scarf when it drops, which is generally the next day; if Chicago weather has taught me anything, it's that layering is an absolute must. Take this look for a spin during afternoon shopping or Sunday brunching.
>>When pulling together a look, I focus in one item and then build the outfit from there.
>>A neutral-colored handbag will be your go-to accessory year-round.
