Goose Island at Pitchfork

Pitchfork Music Festival, which goes down this weekend in Union Park, announced its musical lineup months ago. Now, we present the weekend's second-most important lineup: the beer!

Thirteen Goose Island beers will be poured Friday through Sunday, including two summer-friendly brews made specifically for the festival: SVE Kolsch, a dry-hopped kolsch brewed with input from singer Sharon Van Etten (who performs Friday night) and Recommended Pilsner, a dry-hopped pilsner brewed in collaboration with Pitchfork staff.

The kolsch is 5 percent alcohol and the pilsner, 4.8 percent. Both will cost $7.

Goose will also again erect a specialty beer tent where new brews will be tapped throughout the day. It includes some not-so-exciting-because-you-can-find-them-everywhere beers (Honker's Ale, Green Line) and some slightly-harder-to-find gems, like The Ogden (a limited-release, well-hopped trippel) and Devon Ave. (a pale ale brewed with classic Indian spices, such as amchoor, cardamom and ajowan, plus chai tea, which is also a limited-release).

Here is the full list, along with their tapping times (which are for all three days, except where noted):

1 p.m. (3 p.m. Friday): The Illinois (a limited-release imperial India pale ale)

2 p.m. (4 p.m. Friday): Green Line (Chicago's ubiquitous draft-only pale ale)

3 p.m. (5 p.m. Friday): Rasselbock (a limited-release dark rye-wheat hybrid)

4 p.m. (5:30 p.m. Friday): Devon Ave. (see above)

5 p.m. (6 p.m. Friday): The Ogden (ditto)

6 p.m. (6:30 Friday): Honkers Ale (English bitter that has been a brewery staple for years)

7 p.m.: Matilda (Belgian-style pale ale)

8 p.m.: Sofie (saison)

9 p.m.: Endless IPA (one of the beers in the brewery's new mass-marketed line of IPAs)

Two Goose Island bedrocks — 312 Urban Pale Ale and 312 Urban Wheat Ale — will also be available throughout the festival grounds for $6.
