Former WLS-Ch. 7 anchor and Healthbeat reporter Sylvia Perez, whose 24-year run ended when her contract was not renewed, has listed her five-bedroom, 4,195-square-foot mansion in Hinsdale for $2.4 million.
Perez, 52, joined the ABC station in 1989 as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Most recently she was the station's medical reporter and co-anchored its 11 a.m. newscast alongside Linda Yu. The station recently announced it is discontinuing that newscast in September.
Features of the mansion include a dining room with custom built-ins, a loft overlooking a family room with a fireplace, a sunroom, a lower-level recreation room, and a kitchen with custom cabinets, an island and a breakfast area with a window seat and a built-in bar. Outside are a resort-style pool, a grotto and a waterfall.
Perez purchased the home in 2006 for $2.2 million. Her listing agent, Dawn McKenna of Coldwell Banker, declined to comment.
Bears coach Marc Trestman buys in Winnetka
Marc Trestman, 57, who was named head coach of the Chicago Bears in January, and his wife paid $2.94 million in May for a newly built six-bedroom mansion in Winnetka.
The French Provincial-style house has 6 1/2 baths, a kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a cherry wood library, a third-floor loft and a lower level with a movie theater, a wine cellar and a fully equipped sports court.
"They were a pleasure to work with, and we're happy to have them in Chicago," said Karen Ruchim of Jasco Realty, who represented the Trestmans.
Interbank CEO pays $12M for Winnetka mansion
Interbank Mortgage Co. CEO Dmitry Godin purchased a 15,065-square-foot mansion along Lake Michigan in Winnetka in June.
Multiple listing service records indicated a sale price of $12.7 million, but the recorded sale price was $11.95 million. Typically, such a difference suggests furnishings were sold separately.
The seven-bedroom mansion, built in 2010, was listed last year for $16.75 million and reduced to $15.98 million. The mansion was built and sold by Leo and Milena Birov, who co-founded luxury homebuilder Heritage Luxury Builders.
The sale price may be the most expensive in Winnetka in 2013, but it's not the most expensive Winnetka sale in the past year. That distinction belongs to a mansion a few doors away, which sold at the end of 2012 for $12.25 million.
Mike Puccinelli lists Oak Park house for $374,500
WBBM-Ch. 2 general assignment reporter Mike Puccinelli on Monday listed his three-bedroom house in Oak Park for $374,500.
Puccinelli, 45, has been with the CBS station since 2004. He bought the house in 2005 for $335,000.
The house, built in 1911, has two baths, an enclosed front porch, hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, a heated attic with a playroom and a bonus room, a new roof, a partially finished basement, and an eat-in kitchen with stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets and a heated floor.
"I grew up in Oak Park, I love the area and I love the house," Puccinelli said. "It's a great place to raise a family."
