Former WFLD-Ch. 32 news anchor Jan Jeffcoat has sold her three-bedroom, single-family house in the Roscoe Village neighborhood for $725,000.
Jeffcoat, who left in July 2012 after five years with the station, is an evening news anchor in Washington.
Jeffcoat purchased the property in 2007 for $807,500.
The house, built in 1999, has 3 1/2 baths, an open fireplace, birch floors, a master suite with a steam shower and body sprays, and a kitchen with a Dacor range, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and concrete counters.
Listing agent Jennifer Miles of Koenig & Strey, who co-listed the house with Luke Jorwic, said the buyers have converted a cascading slate waterfall into a rock-climbing wall.
"It's a nichey kind of house, so I think that the sale price was fair market value," she said.
Norths sell 2 Park Ridge lots
Mike North, a longtime Chicago radio and TV personality who hosts a national radio program on Fox Sports, and his wife, Be-Be, have sold two vacant lots on a secluded lake in Park Ridge for slightly less than $1.1 million.
In 2005, the Norths bought the two lots on 14.5-acre Murphy Lake. They split the site into two lots, with an eye toward building their dream house on one lot and having Be-Be North's sister and brother-in-law construct a home on the other, Be-Be North said.
Plans changed, and the couple listed the two lots for sale in 2007.
The Norths found no takers for more than six years, despite steady price cuts. They ended up selling the two parcels to the same family, Be-Be North said, closing Dec. 11. The smaller lot sold for $522,500, and the larger one sold for $575,000.
"The people who purchased the lots are super nice people," Be-Be North said. "That's the kind of place you can build and live for a long time. It's beautiful land, and it's nice to see people happy."
