Rogers Park saw three homicides in three days in the last week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.
Two men, ages 26 and 27, were shot to death Monday in the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road, police said. Three days earlier, a 15-year-old boy was fatally shot in the 1800 block of West Juneway Terrace, according to officials.
Rogers Park has logged four homicides so far this year--the same number recorded in 2011, according to RedEye data.
Citywide, gunshot homicides were logged in the last week in Chatham, Chicago Lawn, the Near North Side, South Shore, Washington Park and West Englewood, RedEye data shows.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was stabbed to death Saturday in the 2400 block of West Armitage Avenue in Logan Square, according to officials.
Thirty-nine homicides have been logged so far this month. Police recorded 28 homicides in January 2011, RedEye data shows.Copyright © 2015, RedEye
