Chicago went five days without a homicide last week for the first time since April, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.
No homicides were logged between Oct. 21 and Saturday afternoon, RedEye determined.
Chicago recorded no homicides from April 13 to April 19, according to RedEye data.
Since Saturday evening, homicides have been logged in Albany Park, Auburn Gresham, Austin, Logan Square, the Near West Side, North Lawndale and West Englewood, according to police information.
Twenty-nine homicides have been recorded so far this month. Forty-one homicides were logged in October 2012, according to RedEye data.Copyright © 2015, RedEye
