Humboldt Park saw three homicides in the last week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.
On Monday, a 15-year-old boy was shot to death in the 4300 block of West Hirsch Street, police said. Two days earlier, a 24-year-old man was fatally shot in the 4200 block of West Potomac Avenue, according to officials.
On Friday, a 26-year-old man was shot to death in the 3600 block of West Ohio Street, police said.
Humboldt Park has seen 14 homicides this year, the most of any community area, RedEye determined. Humboldt Park logged 29 homicides last year, according to RedEye data.
Meanwhile, East Garfield Park and New City each saw two homicides in the last week, RedEye data shows.
In New City, an 18-year-old man was fatally shot Monday in the 5300 block of South Wood Street, police said. Two days earlier, a 20-year-old man was shot to death in the 5200 block of South Wood Street, according to officials.
In East Garfield Park, a 32-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were shot to death Saturday in the 2700 block of West Polk Street, officials said.
Citywide, fatal shootings were recorded in the last week in Ashburn, Austin, North Lawndale, Roseland, South Shore and West Garfield Park, RedEye determined.
Thirty homicides have been recorded so far this month. Police logged 54 homicides in June last year, RedEye found.
