Chicago recorded three homicides by stabbing in four days this week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.
A woman was found stabbed to death Wednesday in the 1300 block of West Thorndale Avenue in Edgewater, according to officials. A day earlier, a 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the 4200 block of North Damen Avenue in North Center, police said.
On Sunday, a 19-year-old man was killed in the 7600 block of South Carpenter Street in Auburn Gresham, according to officials.
Chicago has recorded 33 homicides by stabbing this year, RedEye determined. The city logged 38 of these homicides in 2012 and 28 in 2011, according to RedEye data.
Citywide, gunshot homicides were recorded in the last week in Austin, Humboldt Park, Roseland, South Shore and West Pullman, according to police information.
Nine homicides have been recorded so far this month. Forty-one homicides were logged in October 2012, according to RedEye data.
