Englewood saw three homicides in three days last week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.

On Saturday, two men were shot to death in the 6900 block of South Stewart Avenue, officials said. Three days earlier, an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in the 6100 block of South Normal Avenue, police said.

Englewood has logged 10 homicides so far this year, RedEye data shows. The community area recorded 14 homicides last year, RedEye determined.

Meanwhile, in neighboring West Englewood, two men were killed in separate incidents this week.

A 30-year-old man was shot and killed Monday in the 2000 block of West Marquette Road, police said. A day earlier, a 31-year-old man was stabbed to death in the 1200 block of West 64th Street, according to officials.

Citywide, gunshot fatalities were recorded in the last week in Auburn Gresham, East Side, Grand Boulevard, Fuller Park, Hegewisch, North Lawndale, South Shore, Washington Heights and West Pullman.

The victims--eight men and one woman--were between the ages of 18 and 34, RedEye data shows.

Twenty-two homicides have been logged so far this month. Police recorded 42 homicides in July last year, RedEye found.
