Chatham saw two homicides in two days this week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.
An 18-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday in the 800 block of East 82nd Street, police said. On Sunday, a 20-year-old man was fatally shot in the 7900 block of South Greenwood Avenue, according to officials.
Chatham has recorded six homicides so far this year, according to RedEye data. The community area logged 10 homicides last year, RedEye determined.
Citywide, gunshot homicides were recorded in East Garfield Park and the Near North Side in the last week, RedEye found.
Twenty-five homicides have been recorded so far in April, according to RedEye data. Forty-seven homicides were recorded in April last year, RedEye determined.
