After four days last week without homicides, Chicago saw 11 homicides in five days, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.

Nine men, between the ages of 21 and 38, were shot to death from Sept. 12 through Monday, RedEye determined. The shootings occurred in Austin, Belmont Cragin, Edgewater, Garfield Ridge, Humboldt Park, New City, Washington Park, West Pullman and West Town.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old woman was beaten to death Sept. 13 in the 5000 block of South Prairie Avenue in Grand Boulevard, police said.

A man was found stabbed to death Saturday in the 4800 block of South Avers Avenue in Archer Heights, according to officials.

Twenty-one homicides have been logged so far this month. Thirty-nine homicides were recorded in September 2011, RedEye determined.
