A 34-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car on the West Side on Sunday night. 

The man was in the 300 block of North Hamlin Avenue in the East Garfield Park neighborhood when someone pulled alongside in another car and started shooting about 6:15 p.m.

The gunman fled, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. 

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with wounds to his leg and side. He was reported stable.

No one was in custody.
