Three people were shot, one fatally, on the South Side late Friday night and early Saturday morning.

A man sitting inside a car died after getting shot on the 200 block of East 55th Place, near the intersection of 55th Place and Indiana Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood, police said.

The 37-year-old was shot in the chest and right side of his back by someone inside another vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m. at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was identified as Quentin Johnson, whose last known address was on the 5800 block of West Lake Street.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.

An 18-year-old was shot in the chest on the 6400 block of South Paulina Street about 11 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, police said, and was expected to survive.

Early Saturday morning, a 19-year-old was shot about 1:15 a.m. on the 2000 block of West 57th Street in the Englewood neighborhood.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition with a wounded foot, police said.

It's not clear why the two teens were shot.
