A man died and a woman survived a gunshot wound to the chest on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Sunday morning near 71st Street, according to authorities.
The shooting happened between 1 and 1:10 a.m. on the "slip" ramp between 71st Street and 75th Street on the southbound side of the Dan Ryan Expressway.
A third person in the car, a man, survived. Police could be seen talking to a man outside a damaged dark-blue car stopped on the ramp early Sunday morning.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the dead man as 27-year-old Fredrick Taylor, of the 14000 block of Atlantic Avenue in Riverdale. He was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center at 3:14 a.m.
State police shut down all southbound lanes to search the stretch between Garfield as ten troopers fanned out and scoured the pavement for evidence.
Both the man and woman were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with their wounds, police said.
Two men were shot within a half hour of each other on the West Side early Sunday morning: one in the hand about 3:30 a.m. near Washington Boulevard and Pulaski Road in the East Garfield Park neighborhood and another near 3500 W. 5th Avenue in the Fifth City neighborhood about 3:05 a.m.
The man shot in the Fifth City neighborhood walked into Mount Sinai Hospital with a thigh wound but details about the other shooting weren't immediately available. Police described the man at Mount Sinai Hospital, in his 30s, as uncooperative.
Another man, 23, was shot in the 6500 block of South Loomis Boulevard in the Englewood neighborhood about 9 p.m. Saturday. He was shot twice in the left thigh and taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said. Someone known to him approached him while he was on a porch and shot him, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
In the Austin neighborhood on the West Side on Saturday afternoon, a man was shot about 2:20 p.m. in the 700 block of North Menard Avenue. The 30-year-old drove himself to West Suburban Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition.
