A 31-year-old man suffered a leg wound this afternoon in a shooting on the city's South Side.
The shooting happened shortly after 1 p.m. on the 5200 block of South Ashland Avenue in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. According to preliminary information, the man was shot while he was standing on the street.
He was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital, said Zala.
