A man was pronounced dead in south suburban Harvey after suffering a fatal gunshot wound Saturday, officials said.

The man was found at about 7:30 a.m. after Harvey police were called to respond to a "man down," in the area of 151st Street and Lexington Avenue, according to Harvey spokeswoman Sandra Alvarado.

Police found a man in his 20s who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, said Alvarado. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was later identified as Jordan B. Vaughn, of the 600 block of East 51st Street in Chicago, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:49 a.m.

Harvey police are investigating. No other details were immediately available.
