Chicago overnight shooting scene

A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead today after he was shot last Friday in Wicker Park, officials said.

Emmanuel Bass of the 1300 block of North Leavitt Street was shot Friday at about 11:23 p.m.

He was shot after an argument in the park, 1425 N. Damen Avenue.

Bass was pronounced dead today at 8:59 a.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he had been listed in critical condition.

Along with Bass a 25-year-old man had been injured from a shooting. Police had earlier also said that he was 35-years-old.

Police said at the time that both men had documented gang affiliations and long criminal histories.
