A 45-year-old man who was pronounced dead after being shot in an alley in the Back of the Yards neighborhood this afternoon was one of at least three people shot Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The man was found in the alley on the 4300 block of South Oakley Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The shooting happened at about 1:35 p.m., according to fire department officials.
The man was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was pronounced dead at 2:17 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
In others shootings this afternoon, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest, leg and shoulder in the 1400 block of North Harding Avenue about 4:15 p.m., said police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was in serious condition, Zala said.
About 6:35 p.m. someone shot another man in the leg in the 4500 block of North Magnolia Avenue, said Zala. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
