Police took a person of interest into custody after a 28-year-old man was fatally stabbed during a domestic dispute early this morning on the West Side, authorities said.
The dispute happened in the 3000 block of West Douglas Boulevard, in the Douglas Park neighborhood about 1:20 a.m., officials said. Police said the man, whose name has not yet been released as authorities notify family members, was stabbed in the chest.
The man was declared dead at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 1:50 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
The person whom police are interviewing has not yet been charged with a crime, and authorities did not release additional details early this morning.
