A man was critically injured after being shot during a robbery attempt in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood this morning, police said.
A 23-year-old was shot in the back by a man who was trying to rob him in the 6800 block of South Prairie Avenue about 9:50 a.m., said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
The victim was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, Estrada said. The robbery suspect fled without getting any proceeds, Estrada said.
