A man was shot found to death in an alley in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Thursday night, police said.
Reginald Jackson, 22, was found shot in the 4400 block of West Adams Street about 7:45 p.m. After an autopsy today, the Cook County medical examinwr's office said the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back.
Police were called to the scene to investigate a report of a person shot and found the man shot in the back in an alley, Alfaro said.
Police said officers nearby heard the gunfire and found the man dead. The man collapsed in an alley between Adams and Wilcox and five shell casings were found at the corner of Adams and Kilbourn, in the street.
The man was dead on the scene at an address in the 4400 block of West Wilcox, near Kilbourn Avenue, according to a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.
At least two others were wounded in South Side shootings.
A 26-year-old man sustained a leg wound in the 200 block of East 120th Street about 11:20 p.m. in the West Pullman neighborhood, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. He was on a sidewalk when someone shot him from a passing car. He's at Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.
A couple hours earlier, someone shot a 23-year-old in the 2300 block of East 102nd Street in the South Deering neighborhood. The man was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital.
Early Friday, a man was shot near 80th Place and Exchange Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood. The attack happened about 3 a.m. He was struck in the foot and taken to South Shore Hospital in good condition.
