A man and woman shot inside a fast-food restaurant were among three people shot in Chicago late Friday, authorities said.
The restaurant shooting took place at 7:17 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Commercial Avenue, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
Wounded were a 25-year-old woman, shot in the head and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, and a 19-year-old man who was shot in the chest, Zala said. Zala did not have an exact condition for the man, but said his condition had been stabilized.
The two were shot inside a JJ Fish and Chicken restaurant, 8800 S. Commercial Avenue, police said. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.
Police said the shooter and someone accompanying him, who were both males dressed in all black, fled the scene on foot and were not taken into custody.
Later, about 10:30 p.m. a 19-year-old man showed up at Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
The man had been shot in the head in the 5900 block of South Talman Avenue, News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said, citing preliminary information.
Gang slogans had been yelled from a car, and at least one person inside had opened fire toward the 19-year-old, police said.The man's condition was stabilized.
