A South Side man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a man in late May in the West Pullman neighborhood, police said.
Roman Forman, 25, of the 4800 block of South Evans Avenue in the Bronzeville neighborhood, has been charged with first-degree murder in the May 29 shooting death of Freddie Walton, 27, in the 12200 block of South Halsted Avenue on the Far South Side, police said.
Forman, who was arrested Friday, was odered held with no bail in bond court Sunday.
According to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan, Walton was walking into a store about 1 p.m. when a vehicle containing two individuals pulled up and someone started shooting. Walton was struck in the neck and shoulders, Sullivan said, and later died at Roseland Hospital.
