Two people were wounded Monday night in a shooting on the South Side in the city's South Shore neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened about 7:41 p.m. on the 7000 block of South Paxton Avenue, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Dan O'Brien.

A man described as being in his 20s, was shot in his right foot and was taken to South Shore Hospital. Another male, whose age is unknown, was shot in his thigh. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, said O'Brien.

As of 8:26 p.m., no one was in custody for the shooting. Police are investigating.
