Riders want more transit, but it will be a while for service changesincluding the Circle Line and possible extensions to the Orange and Red Linesaccording to Tuesday's "Going Public." Those projects are all in the first phase of a five-step process the CTA must complete before requesting mass transit moola from the federal government to put them in motion.

Newbie riders are invading the CTA this summer due to a number of factors including rising gas prices and service improvements, according to the CTA and letters in the "Going Public" inbox. Columnist Kyra Kyles decided to help smooth out the CTA squeeze by offering inexperienced riders tips on mass transit manner- such as having their fare prepared and steering clear of doors. Riders expressed their own ideas about bus and "L" etiquette, and some offered opinions on other issues affecting the transit agency.
