Team StarKid, the remarkably popular Chicago-based theater company known for its Internet-based musical parodies, is embarking on a second national tour.
Dubbed "Apocalyptour," the new "all ages" (by necessity, given the youth of the core StarKids demographic) show will launch at the House of Blues in Chicago on May 9 and play 21 cities between then and June 10, when it culminates at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Live Nation is a co-presenter.
Cities on the tour include Philadelphia, New Orleans, Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Ann Arbor, where Team Starkid was formed at the University of Michigan, prior to its move to Chicago.
The new live show will feature a score by Darren Criss (who will not appear in person) and include "greatest hits and upcoming releases" from a variety of StarKids musicals. Team Starkid's first tour was a huge hit, selling out many dates.
Tickets, priced from $25 to a whopping $125 (for the top VIP passes), go on sale 5 p.m. April 17 via Ticketmaster.com or LiveNation.com
