Goodbye Smallville. Hello Metropolis.
The filming of the new Superman reboot, "Man of Steel," left Plano after 14 days of shooting in the Western suburb and is expected to film in Chicago Wednesday through September 17.
According to signs hanging on South Wells Street Tuesday, there will be no parking on the street until 10 p.m. on Sunday due to filming. One block away, security guarded semi-trucks on South Franklin Street Tuesday night while a police officer helped trailers pull into the parking lot of the nearby 311 South Wacker building.
When asked if all the commotion was for Superman, one security guard responded "Autumn Frost." ("Autumn Frost" is the code name for "Man of Steel.")
"Man of Steel" stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon and is directed by Zack Snyder. The film, which reportedly has a budget of $175 million, hits theaters June 14, 2013.
