R&B mega-star Beyonce Knowles appeared to stick to her much-publicized vegan diet while in Chicago for her concert at the United Center, visiting vegan-friendly Karyn’s Cooked in River North Friday and Saturday.
“The lovely & talented @Beyonce stopped at Karyn's Cooked for lunch,” tweeted Karyn’s owner Karyn Calabrese.
Knowles -- who unexpectedly released a self-titled album Thursday on iTunes -- also was spotted Friday shopping at Topshop in the Gold Coast.
Jay-Z announced on his website that he and Knowles would embark on a 22-day vegan diet beginning Dec. 3, which makes Friday the half-way point. The rap mogul wrote that he wasn’t sure if he would continue with the plant-based diet once the 22 days were up, but didn’t rule it out.
During a previous visit to Chicago in 2011, the power couple dined at the now-closed Great Lake pizzeria in Andersonville. They reportedly had to wait for a table just like everyone else.
Pop icon Lady Gaga -- who collaborated with Knowles on the song "Telephone" -- dined at Karyn's Cooked last year.
