The Riverfront Theater, the Chicago Tribune Media Group's tented venue located at the newspaper's printing plant, is closing down until the spring.

The planned return engagement in December of the circus "La Soiree" has been canceled. Meanwhile, the music attraction known as "Gentleman's Rule," which had been slated to open inside the tent next week, is moving to the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St.

In a statement, the Tribune said that the change was made "after careful evaluation of new information as it relates to weather plans."

The company said the venue will return in the spring.
