A woman was sexually assaulted inside a bar in Wrigleyville, and police are searching for her attacker. (Posted June 3, 2014)

Police are investigating a sexual assault that reportedly occurred inside a bar in the Wrigleyville neighborhood early Sunday morning, but have released few details about the incident.

A 27-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted in the 3500 block of North Clark Street. Police were called to that area about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.

The woman was taken to the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Police did not know her condition Tuesday or if she had been released.

Police on Tuesday named the bar as The Irish Oak and said the assault allegedly happened in a downstairs bathroom. Police had requested video surveillance from the bar and had no suspects in custody, Police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said Tuesday night.

A message left for bar management Tuesday night was not immediately returned.

Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said at a Tuesday news conference that detectives are "investigating it and we’ll see where it goes."
