'N.W.A.' biopic to hold casting call in Chicago

The biopic “N.W.A. Straight Outta Compton” has held open casting calls in Atlanta and the Los Angeles area to find actors to play members of the legendary gangsta rap quintet. Next up: Chicago.

According to Sharon King Casting, the casting call will take place Saturday at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios on the West Side from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. African American males in their late teens to late 20s are encouraged to audition for the roles of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy E. No experience is necessary. The audition will take place behind the green lot at Cinespace. Parking is available at 2620 W. 16th Street.

“(E)veryone in the age range has a chance,” director F. Gary Gray tweeeted. “It doesn't matter where you're from. The Wire cast great actors from the UK.”

If you’re unable to attend the casting call, you can still apply by emailing a photo and your age, height and location to nwamoviecasting@gmail.com.
