Morrissey has canceled his U.S. tour, including a show scheduled Friday for the Civic Opera House.

Morrissey’s representatives made the announcement Wednesday: “It is with great sadness that the remainder of the U.S. tour has been canceled. The respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami has worsened, and in the interest of making a full recovery, all further touring plans have been halted. Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates.”

Tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase, local promoter Jam Productions said.

Earlier this year, Morrissey had canceled a previous U.S. tour, including a March 23 date at the Chicago Theatre, due to “medical reasons.”
