The venerable off-Loop operation known as a the Mary-Arrchie Theatre Company has announced its 27th season.
The slate begins with Sam Shepard’s drama "Geography of a Horse Dreamer" in September (Carlo Lorenzo Garcia directs), followed by "a Mary-Arrchie re-imagining" of Tennessee Williams' "The Glass Menagerie," directed by Richard Cotovsky and Hans Fleischmann, in December.
2013 begins with a new production of Austin Pendleton’s "Uncle Bob" in February. Aside from the annual Abbie Hoffman Died for Our Sins Theatre Festival (held every August) the 2012-13 season ends with an experimental staging of "The Brig" by Kenneth H. Brown in April. Jennifer Markowitz directs the piece, first produced by the Living Theatre in New York in 1963.
Mary-Arrchie has, for more than two decades, performed at Angel Island, 735 W. Sheridan Road.
