A 19-year-old man who was fatally shot in the Gage Park neighborhood Thursday evening has been identified, authorities said.
The man, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as Sergio Mora, was shot in the left side in the 2300 block of West 50th Place just before 5 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.
Police were called to the area after people heard shots and found the man on the ground, unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the head and torso, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada. Police were seeking witnesses who might have seen the attack.
The man was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Chief Joe Roccasalva.
Mora, of the 4900 block of South Winchester Avenue, was declared dead at 5:59 p.m. at Stroger, according to the medical examiner's office.
No one was in custody.
In an earlier, unrelated shooting, four men were wounded in the South Shore neighborhood as they stood in the doorway of a corner shop.
