At least 9 people were shot overnight across Chicago.
A 30-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in the South Deering neighborhood on the Far South Side Saturday night, officials said. The man was shot in the left side of his body at about 7 p.m. on the 2500 block of East 104th Street and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to police and the Chicago Fire Department.
About 10:30 p.m. in the 200 block of East 47th Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side, a 24-year-old man was shot in the elbow, police said. No information was available about his condition, what hospital he was treated at, or the circumstances surrounding in the shooting.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the 11400 block of South Halsted Street about 11 p.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. He was walking on a sidewalk in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side when someone shot him in the foot. He was taken to Roseland Hospital.
Another man was shot in the right ankle about the same time in the 200 block of West 112th Place in Roseland, police said. He was standing on the second-floor landing of an apartment building in the block. Police said he and two others that may be involved – a woman and a current or former boyfriend of hers – are not cooperating with investigators.
About 1:10 a.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old man was shot near Central Avenue and Washington Street in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. His family dropped him off at West Suburban Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right foot.
An 18-year-old was hit in the leg by someone who opened fire from inside a minivan in the 4400 block of South Wells Street in the Fuller Park neighborhood on the South Side. The attack happened about 1:25 a.m. but police didn't find a crime scene where the man said he was shot. Friends took him to University of Chicago Hospitals.
A man in his early 20s walking in a group was shot about 3 a.m. in the 4500 block of South Wallace Street in the Canaryville neighborhood on the South Side. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
Police said a 21-year-old man standing in the 4100 block of West 47th Street in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side was shot in the hand about 3:15 a.m. Someone shot toward the man, who was on a sidewalk, from inside a passing dark car or truck. No hospital information was available.
Someone drove a 17-year-old boy to Loretto Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right calf, police said. He had been shot about 3:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of West Congress Parkway in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side. His condition had stabilized.
