Two men are dead, and and third was wounded in separate gun attacks on the city's Near North and South sides on Saturday.
The latest shooting happened about 1:20 p.m. in the city's Near North neighborhood Saturday, said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
A 22-year-old man was in the intersection of Orleans and Division streets, when a gunman dressed in all red shot him in the head, Mirabelli said, citing preliminary information.
The gunman then fled eastbound from the intersection, he said.
The man, Ramaine Hill, of the 700 block of West Blackhawk Street, was pronounced dead at 10:08 p.m. Sunday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Earlier Saturday a man was found shot dead in a gangway on the Far South Side in the city's Morgan Park neighborhood.
That shooting happened about 11:19 a.m. Saturday on the 11700 block of South Hale Avenue, said Mirabelli.
The man, was found dead lying in a gangway. He suffered gunshot wounds to the back of the head and his shoulder, Mirabelli said, citing preliminary reports.
He was pronounced dead on the scene Saturday, according to Fire Media and the Cook County medical examiner's office. He was eventually identified Sunday as John Atkins, 33, of the 300 block of East 132nd Street.
The circumstances leading up to the deadly shooting were not immediately available.
On Saturday, another man was shot in the city's Gresham neighborhood.
That shooting happened shortly after 9:15 a.m. on the 500 block of West 81st Street, according to Fire Media.
The man, 21, suffered a wound to his left shoulder and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition was stabilized, according to Fire Media.
