The robbery occurred just after noon at the Citibank branch at 539 N. Michigan Ave., according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
A man entered the bank and went up to a teller and implied he had a weapon, gesturing with a newspaper, and ordered the teller to hand over money, Mirabelli said.
The man was described as black, in his 50s, about 6 feet tall and wearing black trench coach, a white dress shirt, a blue tie and a plaid cap, Mirabelli said.
