A man wearing a plaid cap and implying he had a gun wrapped in a newspaper robbed a bank on North Michigan Avenue today, authorities said.
The robbery occurred just after noon at the Citibank branch at 539 N. Michigan Ave., according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
A man entered the bank and went up to a teller and implied he had a weapon, gesturing with a newspaper, and ordered the teller to hand over money, Mirabelli said.
The man was described as black, in his 50s, about 6 feet tall and wearing black trench coach, a white dress shirt, a blue tie and a plaid cap, Mirabelli said.
