After entering the bank, the man walked up to a teller window and "loudly and aggressively announced a robbery," Hyde said.
The man did not display a weapon but kept one hand concealed in a dark hooded sweatshirt as the Bully Bandit usually does, according to the FBI. The man also wore a black scarf, another characteristic of the prolific thief.
This afternoon's incident would be his ninth robbery since Nov. 28 of last year, according to Bandittracker.com. The FBI has offered a $10,000 reward.
The Bully Bandit has been described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5-feet-8, with a medium build and a mustache.
Anyone with information about the man can call the Chicago police or the FBI's office in Chicago at 312-421-6700.
